If you've heard about Organic grains such as Quinoa, Millet, and Barley, but have been unsure how to cook with them, or what they taste like, now is your chance to learn more. Local chef Sun Hyland will be demonstrating some tasty recipes using these wholegrains, at Ripe in Albert Park on May 21 and May 22. At 4pm, 5pm and 6pm on both days, Sun will be cooking a different recipe, giving step by step instructions so you can try the same at home. Over the two nights, Sun will be cook Quinoa Burgers, a Vietnamese Coleslaw with Barley,  Millet and Rice Nori Rolls, and several other dishes that are not only warming and nutricious, but also versatile, so that you can experiment at home. Come along and taste something new!

Sun is passionate about genuine, nourishing food, and has been working with organic food for the past 10 years, running kitchens and cooking classes. With a focus on plant based diets, Sun explains simple food preparation methods to empower people with the knowledge to heal themselves and cook delicious healthy food for their families.

We're delighted to have Sun cooking for us at Ripe, and we'll be offering a 10% discount on all grains and ingredients included in the recipes at Ripe in Albert Park. The cooking demonstrations will feature a different recipe on the hour at 4, 5 and 6pm, and Sun will be around for the full 3 hours to answer any questions you may have about cooking with grains and balanced nutrition. Copies of the recipes will be available for you to take away, and we'll also post them in our recipes section on this website.
